The Samsung Galaxy S now joins the list which contains the Nexus One and the HTC Thunderbolt. Since the ICS’s source code has yet to be released, for those wondering, this means that the devices we just mentioned are running on the ICS SDK. The result are ports that try to recreate ICS as close as possible, but at the same time with limited to no functionality whatsoever (i.e. touch screen not working).
This port is headed by galnet and lttldvl, both members of the XDA community and who are better known as the developers of MIUI for Android. While Samsung has not officially confirmed that ICS will be arriving on the Galaxy S, owners of the Galaxy S will have the peace of mind knowing that there are developers working hard at bringing an ICS port to their device. For those who want to follow their progress, head on down to the XDA forums.
