For those who don’t remember, it seems that certain customers had bought iPhones from China’s Apple retail stores at full price, naturally thinking that these were brand new products. However when checking their warranty against Apple’s website, it was discovered that based on the serial numbers of their phone, the warranty on their phones were set to expire way ahead of schedule, suggesting that perhaps these products weren’t new after all.
Wang Hai is now fighting for the rights of the affected customers, and is seeking compensation from Apple in the form of terminating the sales contract with the affect customers, returning the money that they spent to buy the phones along with an addition 4,999 yuan for costs of the lawsuit together with an apology from Apple to the customers.
