Sounds normal, doesn’t it? The kicker in the Blue Marble project is that it’s not just any QR code, but rather a QR code that is big and visible enough that it can be seen from Google Earth and Google Maps (with the help of Earth View). It is a rather unique idea, and the company is basing potential success off the fact that Google Earth has been downloaded approximately 1 billion times, which means that there will be plenty of people who could chance upon your ad.
If that sounds like something you’d want for your company, it will reportedly cost you $8,500 plus a $200 recurring fee. The downside is that apparently it will take about a year before the QR code even shows up in Google Earth.
