Nintendo 3DS eShop to arrive on computers and smartphones
It looks like Nintendo will be following in the footsteps of Apple and Google with its 3DS eShop. The company has announced that it plans to let consumers browse its eShop via computers and smartphones instead of keeping for the 3DS-only like it currently is. The reason for this move is so that more people can find out about games on the eShop even if they don’t have access to a 3DS with them when they want to look up a game.
This move would definitely increase the exposure that games on the eShop will get, especially since websites and reviews can now link to them. Unfortunately users won’t be able to purchase the games through their web browser/smartphones – at least not at launch. Folks will have to use their 3DS to snap a picture of the game’s QR code to be directed to it on the eShop. There’s no mention of when the new eShop will arrive, but we’ll let you know when it does.
