On the look for a new video/still camera on the market? You might want to check out the GC-PX10 from JVC. Just launched today, this hybrid camera is capable of shooting 12-megapixel stills and full HD videos (1920 x 1080). If you’re thinking, “hey, a lot of cameras can already do that!” but can they do both simultaneously? The GC-PX10 is capable of shooting 8 while recording full HD video at the same time!
The JVC GC-PX10 uses JVC’s FALCONBIRD high speed imaging engine that is found on the JVC Full HD 3D camcorder, the GS-TD1. It also packs a 1/2.3″ 12.75 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor. The camera can shoot at ISO6400 for increased sensitivity shooting in the dark, and can even fire out 8.3-megapixel stills at a rapid fire rate of 60 shots-per-second (up to 130 shots per burst) or 12-megapixel stills at 30 shots-per-second. And at VGA quality, the camera can even shoot at 300 frames-per-second, which makes it great for sharing on the internet. It can work for 2 hours straight, which means you’ll be able to shoot a complete soccer game in slow-motion.
Features like optical images stabilization, 10X optical zoom (19X Dynamic Zoom with no image degration), KONICA MINOLTA HD LENS, a mode for auto and manual settings, microphone output and headphone input, 32GB of internal memory, an SDXC/SDHC card slot, a tiltable 3″ touch panel display, HDMI output, and bundled LoiLoScope FX software for Windows is icing on top of the cake.
The JVC GC-PX10 hybrid camera sure offers a lot of folks who are into shooting videos and tons of images to capture motion. It will be available later this month for $899.95.
