Google to roll out SSL search beta in the coming weeks

Great news for folks who are paranoid about their searches on Google being monitored or intercepted by other people: Google has announced that its SSL search is going to be available for everybody. When it was introduced last month it automatically redirected Chrome 14 users to its encrypted search page. But Google has announced that over the next few weeks, it will push out the secure search page to the public.

All you have to do is be logged in to your Google account, and visit the Google website to perform your searches like you normally do. And if you’re wondering about how to tell if you’re using the secure site or not, just check the URL bar. If it says “https://…” (note the additional S) you’re using the secure search.
