Google Chromebooks more flexible to purchase

We live in an age of choices, and gone are the corporate tyrannical days of Henry Ford when he churned vehicles out in just a single color – black, in a case of “take it or leave it”. After all, how else do you explain the myriad of colors that the iPod mini came in back in its heyday, not to mention the slew of protective covers? Well, purchasing a Google Chromebook is another story, where it was originally revealed to be made available to enterprise and education customers under a subscription model at first.

The question is this – did such a model make an impact? Surely the idea is far different from what we are used to, that is, to continue paying a monthly fee for the next three years instead of a lump sum payment, but perhaps some people feel it is easier to manage their finances that way. Google is now making available the option to purchase a Chromebook in a one-off transaction for $449, where the Wi-Fi model will be accompanied by one year of support.

Those who want the 3G capable model will have to fork out $519, where these price tags apply to educational customers. As for businesses, they will be charged $559 and $639, respectively. Will this move you to open up your wallet?
