Chrome browser coming to Android soon

So Apple has their own browser built into the iPhone – Safari, but oddly enough there has been no sign of Google Chrome making its way onto Android, at least until recently where a post on the Chromium Code website seemed to suggest that Chrome for Android may be closer than we think.

It’s unknown what sort of features Chrome for Android will be bringing to the table – will it be a dumbed down version of Chrome meant for mobile devices or will it be a featured packed mobile browser? While the revision log seems to suggest that most of the Chrome features that are known and loved by users should be making its way onto the Android version, as to how well it actually translates into the mobile version remains unclear.

No word on when Chrome for Android will be released, but according to Alberto Vildosola at Android And Me, he wouldn’t exactly be surprised if Chrome for Android made an appearance at the Samsung Mobile UNPACKED 2011 event held on the 11th of October. To be honest we wouldn’t be surprised either. Anyone else excited about Chrome making its way onto Android?
