Asus Zenbook UX21 torn apart

We did preview the Zenbook UX21 and Zenbook UX31 from Asus nearly a fortnight ago, and the good people over at Anandtech have taken the former to strip it apart, down to its bare essentials. This 11″ Zenbook is somewhat similar to the MacBook Air when it comes to the dismantling process, sporting 10 screws around the perimeter of the bottom panel. You will need to remove the Torx screws with the right tool though.

Boasting an ultra slim cooling solution that will cater for the Intel Core i7-2677M processor and the accompanying QS67 chipset, a rather stiff and labeled ribbon cable will connect the two boards together. Relying on the good old stick form factor for its SSD, the 128GB UX21/31 models will rely on a SandForce SF-2281 based drive from ADATA to stash your precious work and memories, while the 256GB capacity model calls upon the SanDisk U100 solution instead.

All Zenbooks will come with a USB Ethernet adapter, VGA adapter and a couple of carrying sleeves to get you started, where one of them is for the adapters, while the other caters for the Zenbook.
