Alesis Cadenza piano plugs into your iPad or computer

Alesis CadenzaAlesis, a company known for its computer-audio solutions and instruments has announced the launch of its new 88-key hammer-action digital piano – the Cadenza. Designed to work as a regular piano for performing and as a recording instrument, the Cadenza comes with ports that let you plug the piano directly into a computer through a USB port. If you have an Apple iPad USB adapter, you can even connect it to the tablet directly.

It comes with a whole variety of tones such as Grand, Upright, Electric, Strings, Organ and more. Users can even split the keyboard to play two different sounds at once, and if that’s not enough there’s even the option to layer multiple sounds for your own combinations. The keys have also been specially designed to mimic a regular acoustic piano, with the lower keys feeling heavier and the higher keys lighter. The piano comes with a whole plethora of keys and a sustain panel to get the most out of the instrument.

The Cadenza supports 1/8″ stereo auxiliary input for you to plug in your CD or MP3 player to jam with, MIDI input and MIDI output ports for you to plug in separate keyboards or to use the Cadenza as an external controller for MIDI-compliant sound modules or instruments, and the aforementioned USB MIDI jack. The electric piano features built-in stereo speakers, and output jacks for external speakers as well as a headphone jack for silent practice sessions.

The Cadenza is available now with an MSRP of $699 and an estimated street price of $499. Find out more at the Alesis website.
