Acer Allegro arrives in France

Acer’s first attempt at the Windows Phone platform is headed in the country that hosts the City of Love, France. It will come in the form of the Acer Allegro, which some of you might remember it as the Acer W4 as it was spotted at IFA 2011 in Berlin earlier this year. Too bad Acer did not go in with guns blazing, as the hardware specifications for the Acer Allegro is not going to dazzle anyone at all.

Sporting a rather small (when you compare it to the Galaxy S2 as well as other newer smartphones) 3.6″ WVGA (800 x 480) display, it will run on a 1GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, accompanied by 8GB of internal memory. Want to shoot photos? That need is provided by a 5-megapixel camera located at the back that has an LED flash, with everything drawing their power from a 1,300mAh battery.

What makes this €299 device a little bit special from other Windows Phone handsets would be the Fast Charge feature which is touted to enable the Allegro be fully charged up to 2.5 times faster compared to other offerings from Acer.
