Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh up for auction on eBay

Apple has been known for their innovative products and designs, even back in 1997 where they unveiled their “Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh” (TAM), a product designed by Jonathan Ive who is now Apple’s Senior Vice President of Industrial Design. Unfortunately the TAM met with lukewarm sales due to Apple choosing to go with form over function back then. The good news is that if you missed your shot at getting a piece of history back then, it seems that a TAM is up on eBay for auction.

Priced at $5,501 at the time of reporting, it’s about $2,000 shy from its original asking price of $7,499, which must have seemed rather exorbitant at that time, although to be fair paying $5,501 for a piece of technology 14 years old is still rather steep. The seller is also claiming the device to be new-in-the-box and even comes with the original receipt which has been framed.

For those who may not have had the luxury of knowing the TAM back in the day, it features a 250MHz PowerPC processor, 32MB of RAM, CD-ROM drive and floppy disc, 12.1-inch active-matrix backlit LCD display and a keyboard with an Italian leather palm rest. Any takers?
