Sony has just announced the launch of some new DASH Information Alarm Clocks – the HID-B7 and HID-B70, which feel more like stationary tablets than alarm clocks to me. Featuring a 7″ LCD resistive touchscreen display (800 x 480), WiFi connectivity, and support for over 1,000 free apps – the DASH Information Alarm Clock can do more than tell you the time. The DASH Information Alarm Clock can let you check today’s news, your Facebook updates or the weather while you’re still lying in your bed.
The clock can also me be used to stream music and display pictures like a digital photo frame to brighten up your bedside. If you don’t already have a smartphone or a tablet, the DASH Information Alarm Clock seems like it could be a useful purchase – but at the price it’s selling for, you might as well invest in a smartphone/tablet and get a cheap, regular alarm clock right?
The DASH Information Alarm Clock will be available in two models – the HID-B70H (which packs a rechargeable Li-ion battery) and comes in brown, slate blue or orange for $169.95; and the HID-B7 (no rechargeable battery) and only in black for $129.99. Head here to pre-order the clocks now (in-stores October).
