Skype for iOS works with Bluetooth headsets

Do you happen to enjoy using Skype on the iPhone? If you do, surely you must have been wondering how come that app failed to support Bluetooth headsets for the longest time. Well, this is no longer the case, where Skype’s iOS app has been given a shot in its arm so that it will be able to support Bluetooth devices – headsets being the primary peripheral of choice, and this applies to both iPhone, iPod touch and iPad versions of the apps.

Having said that, do you think that Skype will be the primary voice communication app of choice on the mentioned iOS-powered devices? Hopefully the XSS vulnerability in iOS apps will be fixed by then.

Apart from a redesign in the iPhone app’s interface as well as throwing in image stabilization for video, you need to take note that Bluetooth connectivity is only supported on select models – and they are the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, the fourth generation iPod touch and the iPad 2. Anything older than that is just not going to work.
