The name itself gives the game away – the Play will be equipped with a 2.4″ color LCD display, sporting a video camera that is stashed inside a talk bubble-shaped enclosure. This can be used as a fridge magnet too if you want, since it boasts of a magnetized back. The device is capable of stashing away 3 minutes of video, so you can give three short 1-minute lectures to each member of the family, or ramble on and on for the entire 3 minutes.
If there is a message stored there, a flashing LED ought to be good enough a reminder. The problem with this? You cannot assign the messages to different people – meaning there is no privacy, so whoever wants to hear what mom has to say about big brother or sister can do so and snigger, knowing the mess that he/she is in. Expect the Play to arrive at the end of September for around $80, where it will come in a myriad of shades to suit just about every taste (green, pink, blue, purple, red, white and black).
