Kyocera Milano low-end Android phone headed for Sprint

After releasing the fancy dual-screen smartphone, the Echo earlier this year, Kyocera looks like it’s going to give Android another shot, this time with a plainer, entry-level device. The phone will be called the Kyocera Milano, and won’t feature anything out of the ordinary. What will draw attention to the phone would probably be its slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and the fact that it will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The phone packs an 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 512MB internal memory, a 3” display, and will be bundled with a 2GB SD card. If you’re looking for a high-end, dual-core, 4G phone – the Milano is not for you, but hey – for $50 on a 2-year contract Sprint, it’s cheap enough for people who are thinking about dipping their toes into the Android pool. The phone will arrive next week on September 9th.
