Huawei’s Honeycomb tablet, the MediaPad was announced a couple of months ago in June, and was scheduled to be available worldwide by Q3 this year. Seeing how we’re reaching the end of September, it doesn’t look like it’ll be out this month. However, the folks over at Engadget have reported that the tablet will be available in Malaysia in the middle of October. Folks living in Singapore can already pre-order the device now, though there’s still no word about when it will be available stateside. Hopefully it won’t be a long wait.
The MediaPad features a 7″ (1280 x 800 IPS) display, Android 3.2 Honeycomb, a Qualcomm 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), Bluetooth, GPS, and WiFi. The tablet is said to cost around $473 (SG$598) when it goes on sale. Find out more.
