As it turns out, the whole HTC/Intel Android news that has been making its rounds on the internet has caught the attention of the famed Eldar Murtazin, who exchanged a bunch of tweets with IntoMobile and revealing several interesting details in the process. Based on the questions that IntoMobile threw at him, Eldar revealed that HTC has plans on making not only an Intel-powered Android tablet, but also a Windows 8 tablet that will be running on Qualcomm hardware.
For those unfamiliar, Windows 8 is Microsoft’s upcoming operating system that can be used as a desktop OS and as a tablet OS, featuring the Metro design that can be found on current Windows Phone 7 handsets. It seems that HTC plans to go with Qualcomm for their Windows 8 tablet due to Qualcomm having a stake in HTC.
Now since Windows 8 has yet to make it out for the public’s consumption, there’s still a lot of things up in the air, and of course despite Eldar Murtazin’s reputable track record and inside information, we will have to take all of this with a grain of salt. With CES/MWC 2012 being several months away, we’re sure that somewhere between now and then more information will surface, so for now we’ll have to take all this information at face value.
