Elecom nendo Orime laser mouse

Most of the time, designer dresses that you see on the runway might be pleasing to the eye, shocking even, but are they functional? I guess the same applies when you rope in one of the top creative talents in Japan, nendo, to create a new laser mouse – ending up with the Elecom nendo Orime. This five-button wireless designer laser mouse won’t come cheap at $90 a pop, and it seems to be inspired by the B2 stealth bomber of the US Air Force instead, with many polygons making up its surface.

Boasting an origami-style structure which blends traditional ideas and a quasi-science fiction imagination, your hands will not appreciate using this mouse for hours on end for sure, but at least it can sit pretty on your desk in red, black, white or silver colors.

Powered by a couple of AAA batteries, the Elecom nendo Orime laser mouse has a working range of around 10 meters when used on a wooden desk, but if you happen to have a steel desk, the range drops threefold in a rather dramatic fashion. I’d see this more useful as an artistic paperweight – how about you?
