Atari Arcade Duo-Powered Joystick confirmed

Who says you cannot travel back in time? You need not own a Delorean DMC-12 and have your own dad travel to the future to warn you about something, but rather, with a little bit of modernized retro (now isn’t that an oxymoron) design in a device, your mind can be transported back to the glory days of your past when you were king at the local arcade.

The Atari Arcade Duo-Powered Joystick has finally been confirmed in the Atari Greatest Hits app’s changelog, so with that done and is well behind us, let us keep our fingers crossed that it will debut on an official basis – and soon.

Additional details on the specifications are as scarce as a sack of potatoes in a drought stricken village, but it does seem as though the upcoming Atari Arcade joystick will feature a largely plastic body that has an open design, letting you remove the iPad from it easily. Not too sure whether the iCade is going to face serious competition from this Bluetooth-enabled joystick or not, but with Atari backing it, surely the decals alone are worth the entry price.
