Well it looks like things are going to get better with the introduction of Windows 8. According to a post on the official Windows 8 blog, Microsoft is improving the file management system in a few ways. First of all, having multiple copy jobs going on at once will only result in one dialog box instead of the many boxes we see now. Users will also have the ability to pause individual transfers in the event that they want specific jobs to finish sooner.
Users will also be able to view more details of the file transfers, instead of just the “time remaining” (which never seems to be accurate). The names of the source and destination files will also be clickable for the convenience of users. It looks like Microsoft is taking the right steps towards improving its flagship operating system. We can’t wait to find out what other improvements they’ve made to the rest of the operating system.
