If you remember a while back, Skype and Facebook announced a collaboration where users would be able to conduct video calls with other Facebook users. It appears that while digging through the code of the yet-to-be released Facebook Messenger app, it was discovered that there was an unfinished video-calling component buried within the application.
While it does not appear that the code is ready to fully launch video calling capabilities from the Facebook Messenger app, it’s good to know that its outline is there. Video calling along with social networking all within one app? If you can ignore the possibility of ads being injected directly into your news feed and a possible attack by Anonymous in November aimed to “kill” Facebook, it looks like Facebook might have given its users another reason to stay.
