We were a bit skeptical at those claims, but now it seems that the device, which has the model number SCH-i515, has managed to find its way through Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group), a group that oversees development of Bluetooth standards and also handles the licensing of Bluetooth technologies and trademarks.
According to the posting, the device will be a CDMA device headed to North America which highly suggests that perhaps this could indeed be the DROID Prime that BGR first reported on.
It still remains unclear if the DROID Prime and the purported Nexus Prime are the same device, considering the “Prime” similarities, and not to mention that Samsung will allegedly be building the third Nexus device. Either way, the certification can only be a good thing because at least we now know that a “Prime” device is headed our way.
