Good news, It looks like there’s going to be an LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 after all. But the bad news is that it’s probably not going to make its way over to our shores. The folks over at Sammy Hub recently got their hands on some photographs of an upcoming Samsung device that looks like a modified version of the Galaxy S 2 and it is touted to feature LTE-connectivity.
The phone is codenamed Celox, and it is slated for a September release in Korea. It features a similar form factor to the original Glaaxy S 2 but it features a protruding back, a fancy-looking home button, and a differently positioned LED flash. It also packs a larger 4.5″ Super AMOLED Plus WVGA display, 800MHz LTE connectivity (100Mbps down/ 50Mbps up), a Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 processor and a 1750mAh battery. The rest of its specs are pretty similar to its non-4G variant. Android Gingerbread, 8-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, GPS, TouchWiz UI 4.0, 16GB internal memory and a micro SD card slot.
No word on pricing but it’s said to be released in September in Europe, since it they use 800MHz networks for LTE over there instead of the 700MHz used here.
