Pandigital Nova Digital Reader going for $170 at Best Buy

With the growing popularity of ebooks, the number of ebook readers have also started popping up as well. While Amazon’s Kindle reigned supreme back in the day, it now faces stiff competition from the Nook and Kobo just to name a few. While Pandigital has also been producing ebook readers, they have not managed to garner the same amount of notoriety and fame as the other brands mentioned, but perhaps that may change with their latest offering.

At the moment it appears that Best Buy is offering the Pandigital Nova Digital Reader which looks remarkably like the 8” Pandigital Super Nova Digital Reader that was spotted at the FCC about a week ago. Granted that in terms of design they both look pretty much alike, we can’t be 100% certain. Either way, the Nova Digital Reader is powered by an 800MHz processor, offers 4GB of internal storage, and features an ActiveTouch display (resistive touchscreen with multi-touch support) with an 800×600 resolution. It will also be running on Android Gingerbread 2.3.

There’s also support for USB 2.0, micro HDMI output along with WiFi connectivity. It also comes with a front and rear facing camera, and all of this will only cost $170. Coupled with the fact that much like its predecessors, it connects directly to Barnes & Noble’s ebook store, it does seem like quite a bargain.
