Nissan to add QR window stickers to their cars
Have you ever come across a car, stop and go “Wow”? If not yourself, I’m sure that you know people who do that and who probably try to take a peek into the car or even chat up the owner trying to find out more about the car. However a quick peek in the car may not tell you much apart from its interior, and sometimes the car owner could be just as clueless, perhaps buying the car because it was cheap or they liked how it looks.
Nissan has come up with a new way for you to get information about their cars by installing QR code window stickers on their cars, starting with their 2012 models. This will be in conjunction with the Nissan Altima and the Nissan Sentra. When the QR codes are scanned, Nissan plans to convey the following information to the user:
- Specific vehicle information, including grade walk, key features and available accessories
- Video based product overviews
- Image gallery
- Incentive offers
- Dealer inventory
- Request a quote capability
- Join mailing list request
- Dealer location support
While we could always go home and do a quick search, I guess doing a QR code scan on the spot would allow us to get the information quickly instead as opposed to going home and forgetting. There’s one thing we have to ask: Future Nissan owners, how do you feel about your car getting scanned by random strangers?
