Apparently an unnamed Nintendo employee came forward with some new information about the company’s future plans. First up there’s a strange rumor about Nintendo releasing an extra circle pad that users will be able to place on their 3DS to get a second analog controller on the portable gaming console. It wasn’t mentioned how this would work, but it doesn’t seem very believable right now. We’ll keep you posted.
The second rumor is that Nintendo is supposedly working on a new portable console to replace the 3DS in 2012. The new console will be 3D-less (due to the fact that the gimmick seems to be detrimental for sales, especially when parents refuse to buy it for their kids in fear of harming their eyes) and will be given a new name. Speculation puts the device as a smaller handheld with more powerful graphics, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Do you think Nintendo has come to terms with the fact that glasses-free 3D wasn’t such a great idea on a handheld console?
