If you’re a fan of Mario Kart and you own a 3D printer, you’re going to want to check this out. A designer who goes by the name of Skimbal on Thingiverse has recently shared the plans to his latest creation: remote controlled cars that are inspired by the turtle shells from Mario Kart. If you’re familiar with the game then you’ll know about the turtle shell power ups that you can pick up to shoot at your opponents.
Except that this time, the shells will be the karts instead of projectiles. No, you won’t be able to ride in them, but you’ll have loads of fun chasing people around with these shells in your own modified game of tag. Skimbal has been kind enough to provide the plans to the parts, and instructions on how to assemble them. There are two versions available – a high power edition (which involves more work) and a low power edition. Check out a video of the turtle shells:
