LG P220 laptop to be launched in Korea this month, Europe later

If you remember back in CES earlier this year, LG debuted a thin laptop with the model P220. The good news is that if you’re living in Korea and Europe, you will be able to get your hands on the slim laptop soon.

Slim laptops are starting to catch on, probably due to their portability which attempts to mimic the same portability found in tablets. It also brings to the table processing power and functionality that can’t be found on tablets just yet (although tablets and software ports are improving over time). In a way these slim laptops are like an in-between for those who want something really portable but at the same time want the processing power and functionality that a full fledged computer brings.

The LG P220, for those who may have forgotten, will feature a 12.5” IPS display with a 1366×768 resolution and a “super slim” bezel. It will run on a second-gen Intel Core i5 processor and will come with the option of either 2/4GB of RAM 250/320GB HDD, 1.3MP webcam along with a purported battery life of 5.5 hours.

Weighing in a 1.3kg and with a thickness of 0.82”, it’s slightly lighter than the 13.3” MacBook Air but at the same time is slightly thicker. No word on the price but it is expected to be launched in Korea this month followed by Europe, and will be available in white, pink and blue. Unfortunately no word on if and when LG has plans to launch this in the states.
