National Geographic, for those who don’t know, produces documentaries so by teaming up with LG, we may soon be able to start watching them in 3D. The video and photographic content will be recording using LG’s Optimus 3D Android smartphone, and will be captured by six award-winning artists from around the world.
“For over a century, National Geographic has been the preeminent institution for world-class wildlife, landscape, travel and lifestyle photography. To have six of National Geographic’s photographers showcase the power of Optimus 3D’s imaging capabilities is a true honor and a significant moment in the acceptance of 3D technology in a portable device such as a smartphone,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
If you happen to be attending IFA in Berlin this year from September 2-7, it seems that the six artists will be showcasing their work at the event, so if you’re there and you’re curious, just pop on over to their booths for a peek!
