Well it seems that Intel has decided to hop aboard the car security bandwagon and have come up with a proof-of-concept app that connects your smartphone to your car’s security system. What Intel had in mind is when a car thief comes along and attempts to break into your car, the system will start streaming video directly to a cloud server and will also attempt to alert you.
We’re guessing the video can be used as evidence in the court or perhaps help the police to identify the car thief so that they can track him/her down. Constant and stable WiFi signals can be an issue, after all it’s rare to find WiFi in the carpark but then again this is just a proof-of-concept but so far so good. Let’s hope that Intel will be able to iron out the kinks and we can start seeing it being implemented soon.
