Fancy your voice on a car navigation system?
Forget about Yoda’s voice making its debut on your GPS navigation system – the little fellow tends to speak in reverse, and sometimes when you need clear and concise directions, he isn’t the best person to look for. You know what they say – if you want something done right, you’ve gotta do it yourself – which is why Clarion has decided to introduce a new add-on feature known as “Custom Voice”. The name explains itself – it enables you to customize your navigation guidance voice, and if you prefer to listen to your wife or loved one provide the relevant directions, it can be arranged.
An SD memory card will be plugged into the user’s PC, where you will head on to a webpage developed by Clarion which will translates audio into a GPS format. This means all of the most frequently used phrases which see action on navigation systems will be dictated to the driver. Once done, just insert the SD memory card into the GPS and you’re good to go.
There’s a catch though – this add-on is (obviously) compatible only with Clarion’s Smoonavi series at the moment – and we don’t know whether Clarion intends to change that in the future or not.
