AMD C-Series and E-Series APU Update

AMD has announced that it has updated its line of Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) with new version of its Series C and Series E processors. This update is targeting a wide array of computer ranging from ultrathin laptops to desktop computers.

Among the improvements, AMD says that it has improved the graphics and system memory performance. It also supports Display Port ++, a variant of the DisplayPort technology that is compatible with HDMI, DVI and VGA displays. Finally, AMD says that laptops using the new Series C and Series E processors can reach 12 hours of battery life (in depletion mode: PC ON, doing nothing).The Series E also has the particularity of working with HDMI 1.4a, which means that you can use stereo 3D displays/TVs.

If you are unfamiliar with this product, AMD’s Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) are central processing units (CPUs) that also embed a high-performance graphics unit (GPU) which is also capable of performing massively parallel general purpose computing tasks.
