I am not quite sure just how many people out there still use cassette tapes as their primary form of audio entertainment instead of non-visible MP3s, but just in case you do own a sizeable collection, perhaps it is time for you to transfer all those analog goodness to the digital revolution. Gadget maven Brando has come up with the USB Cassette Capture & Player which says it all – this $26 device will convert all music (scratched, pops, and noise included) into the MP3 file format.
Powered by a couple of AA batteries (or USB power when you plug it into your computer), the included program is touted to be ‘easy-to-use’, although I have my reservations on such a claim since Brando’s range of products tend to come from China, where the standard of English is still not quite there yet – hence projecting the same thought to the user interface of the software.
Apart from that, the USB Cassette Capture also sports an audio output which allows you to enjoy your music on a compatible plugged in device (via 3.5mm audio jack). This looks particularly like an old school Walkman player – what do you think?
