Toyota Pre-Collision System prevents accidents before you know it
You know the adage “prevention is better than cure”? Well, Toyota certainly subscribes to that provern with their latest bit of technology – the Pre-Collision System (PCS) that is touted to be smart enough to predict collisions, applying brakes on your vehicle before you are fast enough to react. Of course, this is no fail-safe system which means you will still need to be on high alert whenever you drive, but rather, it might help lower the amount of fatalities or injury in select situations. Capable of predicting collisions under certain situations, the PCS is being refined further through the use of millimeter-wave radar and stereo cameras that will go about its job of detecting pedestrians and vehicles in front.
Not only that, the PCS system will emit near-infrared beams that will aid your eyes at night as it helps enhance visibility. I do wonder just how much more you will need to fork out to have PCS installed in your Toyota in the future, and whether it will be compulsory or an option remains to be seen.
