Anybody looking forward to Sony Ericsson’s upcoming tiny Android phone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard? If you are, then we’ve got some good news for you. The phone was recently spotted going through the offices of the FCC, and it looks like it’s gotten the seal of approval. Unfortunately, the phone is packing 900/2100MHz radios so it looks like it won’t be slated for the US – at least not for now. Expect it to surface again in the future under a different guise, possibly with carrier branding and different radios.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro was announced a couple of months ago, and since then it’s been caught in the wild, though there hasn’t been any sign of its arrival. Well its latest trip to the FCC my signal an end to the wait. With hardly any new Android phones packing QWERTY keyboards on the market right now, it’s good to see that they aren’t extinct yet.
