Another day, another phone passes through the FCC’s hoops of tricks. This time around, it would be the Sony Ericsson txt pro CK15a, an entry-level smartphone that will have a sliding QWERTY keyboard in the landscape format. This would make it a whole lot easier to compose your text messages or even modifying documents on the go, without having to frustrate yourself with the virtual keyboard. Since this is centrally a messaging phone, it will also sport support for Gmail, Google Talk, Twitter, Facebook and txt apps.
Do not expect too much when it comes to hardware specifications, as you will have to make do with a 3″ display at 400 x 240 resolution, 64MB RAM, up to 100MB of internal memory which thankfully, can be further expanded using the microSD memory card slot.
The 3.2-megapixel camera ought to be good enough for casual images, but it is not going to replace your dedicated digital camera anytime soon. No idea on when will it arrive at the market nor for how much it will cost, but since it has passed the FCC, it ought to arrive soon. Will it be headed to AT&T and T-Mobile since those bands are supported?
