Sanya Skypump juices up your electric vehicles

Talk about a new way to obtain power so that your electric vehicle is able to “fuel up” so to speak. The Sanya Skypump will harvest electricity by harnessing the power of the wind, hence the name Skypump comes into play. Not only that, it will also continue the green fight by incorporating solar panels to boot. This is the brainchild of Urban Green Energy and GE Energy Industrial Solutions, where it will remove dependence on the energy grid to a certain degree for electric vehicle owners.

The Sanya Skypump is actually the scion of the GE WattStation and UGE’s solar-powered Sanya Streetlamp, where the slim design will be able to be in action even along roads and parking lots. Since there is a number of lots that are already using solar-powered Sanya Streetlamps, it makes perfect sense to include the Skypump without missing a beat.

A UGE-4K wind turbine is used to ensure wind power is not wasted, while solar panels on the Skypump’s roof will transform the sun’s rays into electricity. It is said that the combined energy produced by the wind turbine and solar array is adequate to offset the charging station’s electricity use – even by a significant amount.
