Microsoft’s upcoming Mango update for their Windows Phone 7-powered handsets might just see older hardware being sold at a cheaper price, perhaps with some tweaks thrown into the mix. These minor variations might see the model numbers change by a shade, and LG looks set to be one of them. They already have the Windows Phone 7-powered Optimus 7, but we have spotted a similarly numbered smartphone known as the LG E906 which will come with Mango on-board already, so there is no need to wait for an update or upgrade.
Just how close is the Optimus 7 to the E906? Well, the former’s model number is E900, to that tells you a whole lot already. In fact, someone has dug up a UAProfile for the still unknown LG E906, where plenty of information within is similar to the E900, save for a handful of small formatting changes.
We do wish that LG will crank out a brand new Windows Phone 7 model instead of rehashing an older one with minor tweaks. What do you think? [Translated Page]
