HTC Marvel makes it past the FCC?
The FCC’s database can be quite a challenge to go through, but the fruit of such labor is definitely well worth the effort. The latest smartphone to have gone through the FCC’s fiery loops is a mystery HTC smartphone that goes by the model name PG76240 (some say the HTC Marvel), where it will support T-Mobile’s HSPA+ frequencies – making it the obvious choice to end up on that carrier pretty soon. After all, most devices that make it past the FCC tend to arrive shortly thereafter, so why should the HTC Marvel be an exception?
Too bad this FCC filing skimps on the handset details, but there is enough information to derive this as an HTC Wildfire S that will run on T-Mobile’s network. What do you think? If this is a Wildfire S, then you can be sure that it will be a budget-minded smartphone, so don’t expect to have it perform well in benchmarks if you’re into such figures.
