When it comes playing with remote controlled cars, instead of those huge and clunky controllers, how about a slightly more modern adaption of the RC car remote which uses your Android device to control it? If that sounds like something you could get on board with, the BlueDrone Kickstarter project might need your help in making it a reality.
BlueDrone is basically an RC car that the creators said should be able to be paired with any Android device – smartphone or tablet – as long as it is running on Android Éclair 2.1 or higher. It pairs with the RC car via Bluetooth and can be controlled via a free app that feature on-screen controls or you could opt for motion-based controlling instead.
Modeled after the Nissan GT-R, the car will run on 3 AA batteries that are said to give the car about three hours of battery life and it can be controlled up to 30-feet. So if getting an actual Nissan GT-R is a bit out of your reach, and if you’re interested in giving BlueDrone a helping hand, a $59 donation will net you a BlueDrone RC car if and when the project goes through.
