Archos 35 Home Connect user manual arrives on the FCC

The Archos 35 Home Connect is not some sort of portable media player, where it does not occupy the phone or Internet tablet niche, but rather, is more like a nice device to have at home – but not necessarily a must. To put it in a nutshell, you could call this a souped up clock radio, save for the fact that it runs on the Android operating system while opening up the door to thousands of Android applications in the process. First introduced in June, the Archos 35 Home Connect has yet to ship – and at least the FCC has also revealed more about the device under the guise of its manual. 

Powered by Android 2.2 Froyo, this device has no physical buttons for you to fiddle with, which might be a good or bad thing, depending on which side of the divide you are on. After all, buttons for the Back, Menu, Home, Search, and volume functions are located on the touchscreen itself, while a camera that is carefully placed above the screen lets you shoot photos or even hold video calls if you so desire.

No physical buttons do not work too well with me, since I am of the snoozer type, and often shut of my alarm instead of setting it to snooze. How about you? You can even opt to hang the Archos 35 on a nightstand with it plugged into a wall jack, although it does have an internal battery that lets it work away from a power outlet for a designated number of hours.
