Porsche and LaCie team up to deliver USB 3.0 hard drives

LaCie has been well known to churn out hard drive models that not only look good, but are speed demons in their own right (and time) as well. The latest bunch of hard drive models to emerge from LaCie’s stable received some help from Porsche – the German-based automaker that rolls out extremely desirable sports cars, resulting in the expansion of the exclusive P´9000 electronics category, which would see the addition of the LaCie Porsche Design Mobile (P’9220) and Desktop (P’9230) Hard Drives. Both models will sport extremely speedy USB 3.0 technology, housed within a sleek aluminium frame and a purist design.

The aluminium frame of the LaCie Porsche Design Mobile and Desktop Hard Drives makes them look elegant with but a glance, where they are made from durable and scratch-resistant aluminium so that your sensitive hard drive mechanics are stashed away properly. Since each frame is built with precision (just like the cars, we presume), you need not fear about performance issues. The aluminium will also work great in regulating heat for guaranteed performance, and it won’t irk the ire of Greenpeace activists since the aluminium frame is 100% recyclable.

The LaCie Porsche Design Mobile Hard Drive (P’9220) comes in 500GB and 1TB capacities, while a 750GB model is being lined up in worldwide Porsche Design Stores on an exclusive basis.
