OnLive has officially announced Facebook integration with its video game streaming service. In addition to playing the same games on virtually any platform as long as you have a stable internet connection, OnLive will now let you share that experience with your friends. Starting next week, OnLive will feature a new component to its gaming service – Facebook.
Taking advantage of the social network, OnLive gamers will be able to launch games using the service, brag about their achievements on their walls, post automatic replays, and even invite friends to watch you as you go about pwning other players in multiplayer games.
If your OnLive friends are on Facebook, you can see when they start playing a game as well which you can then join in the fun or play the role of a spectator by watching them play. With OnLive voice chat, you can tell them what you think of their game, offer friendly advice or even congratulate and encourage them for pulling off a tricky move.
Friends who don’t have OnLive accounts can also play free demos of the games their OnLive friends are paying, which could help convince them to join the service – and if they do, they know that they won’t be alone in the game either.
Talk about taking social gaming to the next level – no longer are users relegated to games like Word With Friends or Farmville, we’re talking about fully-fledged video games here that can be launched straight from your browser. Head over to OnLive’s website for more details.
