Nokia N950 spliced open by the FCC, has 12-megapixel camera
Are you the extremely curious type? If you have answered in the affirmative, then might we suggest you check out what the FCC has on offer at the moment? We are talking about one of the most recent Nokia releases, which is the Nokia N950, where it has been split wide open so that you are able to check out the innards. This official disassembly won’t come with any fear-inducing alien DNA effect that will cause a massive mutation in you (Green Lantern, anyone?), but at least you now know for sure the parts that Nokia has crammed in. It seems to carry the BL-4D battery that has less capacity than the N9, coupled with a 12-megapixel CMOS sensor.
This is a a pleasant surprise, since Nokia’s N950 information page mentioned that it and the N9 came with similar image quality – rolling out 8-megapixel images. Guess the N950 is capable of so much more if the right kind of firmware is introduced. Why do you think Nokia decided to keep the resolution down by 4-megapixels?
