Aluratek has just announced the release of two new additions to its Libre eBook reader lineup. Called the Libre Air and the Libre Touch, these eBook readers now have WiFi support which will allow users to load new books into the readers without any wires.
The Libre Air has a 5″ reflective light LCD screen that looks like paper, which eliminates flickering during page turns. It also doesn’t use any backlight, which makes it easy on the eyes, readable in the sun, and increases battery life. It has the capacity to hold up to 50,000 books with the expanded microSD card slot.
The Libre Touch is the bigger brother of the Air, with a 7″ touchscreen LCD display, and is multimedia capable, with the ability to read books, watch videos, display images, and go online. It also has a microSD card slot (expandable up to 16GB).
Both eBook readers will work with many local library eBook programs for free access to books, and can use Adobe Digital Editions to purchase, download, view and manage eBooks. Formats supported: EPUB, PDF, TXT, FB2, MOBI, PRC, and RTF. Both the Libre Air and Libre Touch have WiFi support, and an audio player for listening to audio books or music. Supported formats: MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV and OGG.
The Libre Air has an MSRP of $119 while the Libre Touch is available for $149. Both are currently available for purchase now.
