TRENDnet has just announced the availability of the first to market 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit with Bonus Outlet. Named the TPL-402E2K, the kit comes with two 400Mbps adapters that feature a built in electrical outlet and embedded power saving technology. The TPL-402E2K plugs into any electrical outlet and creates a secure high speed building-wide network (after hooking up the plug with an Ethernet cable to an internet connection of course).
In addition to providing wireless internet, the 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit with Bonus Outlet has what its name suggests – a Bonus Outlet which means you don’t use a slot if you have this plugged in all day, which is a good thing to have if you lack electrical outlets in your office or home. The adapters can even work together with a convenient one-touch connect button, and supports up to sixteen Powerline adapters working together.
It is also power saving, by reducing power consumption by up to 70% in standby mode. It comes with a three year warranty and is available now from all online and retail partners. The TPL-402E2K has an MSRP of $179.99.
