Samsung Infuse 4G, HP Veer 4G arrives at AT&T
The 4G revolution is well underway, what with Samsung rolling out their Infuse 4G and HP with their Veer 4G. You would soon realize that both handsets are different in one glaring way – their respective screen sizes. The Samsung Infuse 4G will hold the distinction of being the largest smartphone Stateside, thanks to the inclusion of a 4.5″ Super AMOLED Plus display that rocks on at 480 x 800 resolution, touting a 1.2GHz processor, 21Mbps HSPA+ connectivity, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a front facing 1.3-megapixel camera. Of course, being large doesn’t mean its operating system is the latest as well since it will just run on Android 2.2 Froyo instead of Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
As for the HP Veer 4G, this will be one of the smallest 4G handsets to date courtesy of its 2.6″ display at 320 x 400 resolution, coupled with a slide-out keyboard for those who need to send those text messages and emails out in a flurry. It is one of the first webOS-powered smartphones under the HP banner, and will chug along faster with its 800MHz Snapdragon processor, accompanied by 14.4Mbps HSPA connectivity and webOS 2.1.
AT&T will sell the Infuse 4G and Veer 4G for $199.99 and $99.99, respectively, on a 2-year contract each.
