Plants vs. Zombies has been out on the iPhone for over a year now and it’s still yet to arrive on any other smartphone platform. Well the reign of iOS is about to end! According to the latest reports, PopCap Games will be releasing Plants vs. Zombies for Android smartphones at the end of this month.
Following the footsteps of Angry Birds Rio, Plants vs. Zombies will debut as an Amazon Appstore for Android exclusive app. Though the app will be sold for $2.99 just like its iOS counterpart, on the day that it is launched, the app will be given away for free, just like Amazon did for Angry Birds Rio.
It looks like Amazon is banking on these exclusives in order to get its customer-base up, and judging by how popular games are it seems to be a solid plan. Plants vs. Zombies will launch on the Amazon Appstore for Android on May 31st. Make sure you get your account ready before hand so you can download the app for free on the day itself! Who’s excited? I know I am!
