HTC is noted for releasing the Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates for the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Incredible S, with the official Gingerbread ROM for the HTC Desire also being made available – albeit unofficially, in a leak. As for the T-Mobile G2 (this is actually the US carrier’s version of the Desire Z), a leaked test ROM was spotted earlier, but now it seems that an official Gingerbread ROM is now out – in the form of a leak, or course.

If you are interested in file names, then make sure you have really, really good memory. The file name has been stated as PC10IMG_Vision_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.13.531.8_Radio_12.52.60.25_26.08.04.30_M3_release_ 188635_signed, and a little bit of sleuthing around would mean this new version is known as 2.13.531.8 instead of the previously leaked 2.13.531.5. Not only that, the Radio also looks to be one of a higher version number, so there is a very good chance that this should be the final ROM for G2 owners of T-Mobile out there.

Would you take your chances with a leaked ROM, or do you prefer to wait for an official version?
